I find flaws attractive. Perfection gets dull fast. The paradisaical populous in the New World will feel like a sea of boring. Show me scars. Show me greys. Show me your soul. I want something that's going to take a lifetime to ponder over and figure out - not a cookie-cutter Truman-esque personality which I can find in everybody else.

My Dissociation letter
by TJ Curioso inhi to everyone!i was summoned to the judicial committee and went.
it was a respectful conversation from one side to the other.
in the end i handed the dissociation letter in hand and a binding to each of the elders, with an article i wrote on the subject, "are jehovah's witnesses a destructive sect?

That letter got better and better as I read through it. I couldn't look away from the screen, @TJ Curioso. Hope you don't mind, I forwarded it on to a few ex-JW friends. If I read this as a still-in Witness, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Well done. -

Today's Watchtower :Paragraph 5
by jwdoctrine in1 cor 13:5:"keep testing whether you are in the faith; keep proving what you yourselves are.
or do you not recognize that jesus christ is in union with you?
by ‘testing whether we are in the faith.’ to do that, we do well to ask ourselves: ‘do i really believe that i am part of the only organization that jehovah has approved to accomplish his will?

This is unbelievable. The very definition of "testing" is to undergo an investigation of the subject at hand in order to establish its quality and reliability. Synonyms for "testing" are words like "scrutinizing" and "assessing" - NOT "believing" as Watchtower has so insidiously switched over to in their reinforced rhetorical questions.
"Belive" is, if anything, the antithesis of the word "test":
Once again, there's what the scripture ACTUALLY says, versus what Watchtower tells its members it says. Shameful, and a total indicator of how conditioned JW readers are, because I'm willing to bet left nut that no one in the audience saw this jarring contradiction.

@NCC-1701: "It takes Different Strokes to rule the world" . In Tony Morris' case, one can only wish for Various Aneurysms.

Wake Me Up Before You Jo-Ho
@dubstepped Gosh, you've given me flashbacks to the earlier Watchtower and Golden Age issues where they'd sling around all sorts of bizarre (and derogatory) theories about Jehovah's purpose for the blacks.

Something about the look on Tony's face tells me his underpants are too tight.
I'm not sure if it's big in Western culture, but when I was younger, we had these German books by the Brothers Grimm. And I swear, every witch looked just like Tony does in this picture. Total "hexe".
To translate into more familiar, yet disturbing characters...

How many are PIMO ??
by Phizzy ini know we cannot answer this, how many are physically in, mentally out (pimo), but i heard an amazing piece of news the other day.. an ex-p.o and ex-elder, a long time regular pioneer, and when i knew him a stalwart believer, went for a drink with another jw who has actually left, but is not df or anything.. in the course of conversation he came out with this bombshell "well, i am actually an atheist now, i just go along to keep my wife happy".. i also heard of a number of youngsters that i know personally who are simply living their life as they want, whilst making sure they don't get df'd for family and social reasons.. if as it seems the pimo's are a huge number, could there be a huge " awakening" where they all realize they are in a huge group, and they all say " eff it, lets call it a day on all the jw s**t ".
?.
wishful thinking, but.....just possible ?.

To quote cognitive psychologist, Steven Pinker:
"If dissenters are punished, and can anticipate they're going to be punished, then you might have a situation where no one actually believes something, but everyone believes that everyone else believes it. Therefore, no one is willing to be the little boy that says the emperor is naked."
